The Patrick Smellie's HE'S REALLY OK got up in the last stride to capture the 89th running of The Jamaica Derby, sponsored by The United Bookmakers Association of Jamaica. He just held Bruceontheloose after a gruelling stretch run to the line.
The Wayne DaCosta's Racing Machine romped The Thoroughbred Racing Hall-of-Fame Stakes Trophy (G1) run over 1200 meters (6F) and is now 6 wins from as many starts. She was partnered by Winston "Fanna" Griffiths.
The USA bred 2yo filly, BIG DIVA had to dig in to hold off the late charge of Al Fouzia in The Eddie Black Memorial Cup over 600 meters (3F) out the straight.
He's Really OK had to dig in inside the final furlong to keep vastly improved Jaylen at bay and only close to the post did he begin to inch off.
Four horses will go the post of The L.R. "Bob" Mayall Memorial Trophy (GR.1) to be run over a mile. We expect Chadman to make all the running here but expect big challenges from Medical Report and big favorite Rum Talk, whose preparation is not impressive for 3+ months layoff.

Billy saddled 22 classic winners in his illustrius carreer which included Derby winners like THANK YOU SIR (1963), BUCKCHASER (1969), LEGAL LIGHT (1977), DISTINCTLY NATIVE (1990) and MIRACLE MAN (2005).
